MONTH OF ACTION

July Reflection, Month of Action

MONTH OF ACTION

How do we balance taking action to move forward with our lives or business, with maintaining our health? If you’re like me, you’re always leaning more towards one of them. Knowing how to get the harmony right, and be able to maintain your energy that way, is probably a lifelong puzzle to solve for many of us, right?

We are all different and the solution for someone else is not going to be the same for you. Taking elements from others, testing, and fine-tuning it to what works for you is the way forward. If it doesn’t work, change your approach until you get what you want.

Do you find yourself sometimes thinking to yourself: “I’m crushing it”? And then suddenly, it’s all gone out of the window and your feelings are the complete opposite; doubting whether you’ll ever get the balance right?

PRIORITISING

It’s 7 am and as I’m typing this blog post into my laptop, the sound of my fingers pushing the keys is bringing me memories back. My priorities in July, especially the last couple of weeks have taken over my normal routine of writing in the mornings. I had to put blogging and working on my book aside, to be able to meet the deadlines I set myself.

I’m grateful that I was able to do that. I got things done in a fairly short amount of time but in the last few days, I have completely forgotten how happy my morning routine makes me and how much joy I get from writing.

Our whole lives are about prioritising, right? Something becomes our focus for a period of time and the other things have to give in. If you are a multi-passionate person like me, and you love variety in your life and work, this is likely a real struggle for you. Trying to do everything at the same time can leave you feeling like you’re not doing anything properly. The important thing is to remind yourself that only choosing to put all your effort into one thing doesn’t have to be forever!

THE MONTH OF ACTION

July has really been the month of taking ACTION for me. And because of that, it’s been both rewarding and stressful. I was preparing for the launch of my mastermind as well as running a beta group to test the content. This was my first time speaking in front of people, my first time teaching and my first time organising, and it has truly been mentally exhausting. But, every little step forward and seeing the impact it’s been making is what helps me to keep going.

Launching a paid course involves a lot of technical things like collecting payments and that is not my strong side. Asking for help whether it’s typing it into our old friend Google or approaching someone with more experience is a great way to do it. In the end, the solution might be easier than you think. It was at least for me.

You can check my masterminds landing page and follow the process to see how I’ve done it here.

SILLY SEASON (CUCUMBER TIME)

Have you heard of ‘silly season’? It’s a term for a few summer months when everything slows down. I have heard of it for the first time only a few weeks ago and it makes perfect sense. Summer is the period when kids are on holiday, everyone goes on vacations and spending time outside wins over work.

Being aware of this season can be a really great tool if you have a business. Knowing why it’s hard to get hold of people can save you a lot of stress. The time and effort can be used for creating new things and taking time off for yourself.

OTHER THINGS THAT HAPPENED IN JULY

The lovely weather has allowed us to spend a lot of time outside. Especially here in Scotland, there is so much choice from swimming in the lochs or rivers to cycling and hiking, and climbing trips to the mountains. One of my stories about a solo trip to the Lake District has been published on the website Thryve. This platform is full of inspiration for small or bigger trips or activities around the UK. We have also booked a flight ticket for the next adventure. Pssst. 🙂

I hope you enjoyed today’s post. My main message to pass onto you is to be intentional about balancing the hard work with your personal life to maintain your mental and physical health. Remember, if it doesn’t work, change the approach!
